The
shih Tzu dog is very popular as a loving pet with a fabulous personality
reports exist of British officers receiving gifts of shih Tzu's over the years, but no organised breeding programme was undertaken in England until the 20th century.
In 1928,Mona browning was stationed with her husband in Beijing and there
acquired her first shih Tzu, she later became the driving force behind the breed
in England.
Her dogs produced the first litter of the shih Tzu breed to be born in England
In
1934, the fanciers of the short nosed dogs separated from the club and adopted
the name of Shih Tzu for their dogs. A total of 14 Shih Tzu [ seven dogs and
seven bitches ]
were listed with the group and became the foundation of most, if not all of the
Shih Tzu throughout the world. The kennel club recognised the breed in 1940
